History

The Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine is New Jersey's first school of acupuncture. The College was founded in 1997 by Julie Puretz after finding little relief for her own pain and fatigue from western medical practitioners. The ESATM is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM). Over the several years ESATM has grown, the College relocated to larger quarters in 2015 in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Visit the Facilities section for more details.

Our College provides its students with a full range of choices in specific acupuncture disciplines and features a personal, individually tailored approach that assures proper development of each student. As the only College in New Jersey to offer a licensing program for those expecting to practice in the state, our graduates can be assured of the support and attention required for a satisfactorily outcome during the licensing process.
